Extra Life at Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU

Extra Life is a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising program within the gaming community. Participants fundraise year-round and pledge to game for one goal: to save and improve the lives of sick and injured kids. Funds raised stay local to help pediatric patients at 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across North America. This year, participating gamers raised over $10 million and in Central Virginia, 182 gamers played in support of Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. This incredible group raised over $33,000, with fundraising continuing through December 31.

Extra Life partners with some of the largest names in the gaming industry, including Twitch, Rooster Teeth, reddit, Wizards of the Coast, Humble Bundle, ESA Foundation, XSplit and Trion Worlds. While anyone can participate, many expert gamers and broadcasters live-stream their play and earn donations from followers.

Keith has participated in Extra Life on behalf of CHoR for the last eleven years!

Keith, pictured here during his 24-hour gaming marathon, plays each year in support of CHoR to honor his brother, a former patient at the hospital. This is Keith’s 11th year participating and in that time he’s raised nearly $32,000 to help kids treated at CHoR!
