Extra Lifers Combat for kids like Christopher!

We would like to introduce you to the 2018 Extra Life Hershey Miracle Child, Christopher!

In 2016, Christopher suffered a concussion from a fall. Hours later, his symptoms became severe and he was rushed to Harrisburg Hospital. After his initial care, he was referred to Penn State Children’s Hospital. During his visit, Christopher was diagnosed Chiari Malformation Type 1. Christopher needed brain surgery. During his hospitalization, he received services from Child Life. Child Life specialists help make the hospital a less scary place. Through medical play, special activities and distraction techniques, Child Life helps kids and their siblings cope with their illness or injury. Christopher’s mother Kelly said that Child Life was key to his quick recovery as the team continuously encouraged him to sit up and play. Today, Christopher is doing well. He loves playing with Pokémon, video games and spending time with his big brother. Kelly states that, “Christopher is a sweet, funny, loving boy who is brave and a true warrior.” With your support, our Extra Life Hershey team can support programs like Child Life, as well as equipment and research needs at Penn State Children’s Hospital.

Our Extra Life Guild wants you to join us in gaming for kids like Christopher! Our goal for 2018 is $50,000 raised and we can’t reach that goal without gamers like you!
