Griffons Celebrate Arena Opening With Extra Life

The Missouri Western State University Griffons Esports team opened a state of the art esports arena on March 4, 2021, and to celebrate they hosted a 24-hour live stream for Extra Life. In the remarks leading up to the ribbon cutting, Christian Konczal, Director of Esports at MWSU, shared that his students wanted to make sure that giving back was part of their team culture from the beginning.

After only a couple hours, the Griffons blew their $1,000 goal out of the water, ending up raising over $1,600 for kids at KU Medical Center! These students are hoping to host at least one fundraising stream a semester, and we cannot wait to see what they can do!
