Inaugural Play It Forward Esports Tournament
Tune in on Saturday, May 18th, 2019 at 10 am when the worlds of eSports, professional sports, and philanthropy join together to raise funds for Children’s Health! NFL Hall of Famer, Michael Irvin and two-time Madden Champion, Drini (Drini Gjoka – Complexity Gaming), will join some of our patients to play Madden NFL 19.
This will be the first Extra Life event for Play It Forward and it will be streamed live on Twitch at https://www.twitch.tv/playitforwardesports and on Extra Life at www.extra-life.org/participant/playitforward.
Donations to Children’s Health can be made via the Twitch and Extra Life stream. Viewers will also have the unique opportunity to play mini-games within the Twitch stream. Their interactions within the gameplay will help analyze data for researchers looking for cures for cancer and other diseases. Technology provided by Balanced Media | Technology.
All donations from Play It Forward will support the Emergency Room renovations. The ER at Children’s Medical Center Dallas is one of the busiest pediatric ERs in the nation and the only pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center in North Texas. Our multidisciplinary team is specially trained in pediatrics to manage any severe or life-threating injury a child may face – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Children’s Health continues to strive to make life better for children and that means continuing to make changes that make a difference. It’s imperative we continue to expand our footprint and capabilities to help more families and save more lives. Our new ER will boast two stories with an easily accessible, street-level entrance. In addition, the interior will be completely redesigned with the patient and family in mind. As the renovations progress over the next several years in three phases, all patient rooms will be larger, private and have state-of-the-art medical technology and equipment.
Thank you Play It Forward for supporting patients and families at Children’s Health through Extra Life!
