Meet your 2020 Extra Life United winners!

Each year, The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital (BBCH) sends two of our Extra Lifers to Extra Life United in Florida. Extra Life United is gaming tournament, organized by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, inviting the best charity gamers from around the world to compete for a $150,000 prize pool to benefit their local children’s hospital. It is amazing as it sounds, and our past attendees have not only had fun, won prize money for BBCH, and escaped a cold Maine winter… but they’ve made lifelong gaming friends. It is an incredible experience. This year, we’d like to congratulate “The Robs” for earninf a trip to Extra Life United 2020: Rob Paquet was  (once again!) BBCH’s top fundraiser, raising $9,697 at last count, and Rob Marden’s name was drawn from a pool of all the other Extra Lifers who raised a minimum of $300 by gaming for BBCH. Congratulations to Rob and Rob- and now, let’s “meet” them both!

ROB PAQUET
Rob has participated in Extra Life for 5 years, and this will be his 4th time attending Extra Life United.
Rob’s favorite games these days are Caverna, Terraforming Mars, Near and Far, and Carcassonne
Rob is from Casco, Maine
And Rob is also captain of the Chits & Bits Extra Life team

ROB MARDEN
Rob has participated in Extra Life for 4 years and counting, and this will be his second year attending Extra Life United- he registered on his own last year!
Right now, Rob’s favorite games are Wingspan and Viticulture
Rob’s hometown is Sidney, ME
And Rob games for Extra Life because of his family’s experience at BBCH: “In November of 2013, my daughter Ruby had a pretty severe asthma incident and she had to spend a few days at BBCH. At the time our local hospital was not able to handle what Ruby was going through. To get us down to Portland, we were transported via a special ambulance, Angel 1.  This rolling Intensive Care Unit is better equipped to handle in transit complications. There were three medical staff in the back with Ruby for the whole trip, which as a concerned parent was quite reassuring. Funds from groups like Extra Life make special equipment such as Angel 1 possible.”

Want to join Rob and Rob at Extra Life United? You can register yourself- just like Rob did last year! Registration is not yet open, but check out the website and save the date- April 7-9, 2020 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Florida!
