Extra Life Spotlight: Tara J
Extra Life is a program through Children’s Miracle Network that unites gamers around the world to play games in support of their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. National Game Day is this Saturday, November 2nd, so we wanted to take a minute to shine the spotlight on some of our gamers by doing a fun Q & A! Up first, Tara!
- How long have you been involved with Extra Life? This is my 6th year as a fundraiser.
- Why do you Extra Life? I Extra Life because my family benefited from the amazing work and dedicated staff at MU Health Care’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital when my oldest nephew was born. When his mother was discharged, they couldn’t come see him every day as they had jobs to go back to and a child at home to take care of. Since I work in Columbia, I was able to visit every day, visit with staff, and send pics to my family.
- What is your favorite board game? I am currently obsessed with a card/board game called Illimat.
- What is your favorite video game? Diablo III
- What is the first video game you ever played? Mario Bros/Duck Hunt
- With whom do you do Game Day? My husband and coworkers
- What is the most useless talent you have? I can remember a lot of useless facts.
- What is your favorite movie/TV show? Movie: Blues Brothers; TV Show: It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
- What weird food combinations do you really enjoy? Mac & cheese and ketchup
- What is your cure for hiccups? I never hiccup…ever…maybe that’s my talent.
- Where is the furthest place you have traveled? Lake Powell, AZ
- What is your favorite restaurant? D. Rowe’s in Columbia
- What is your favorite holiday? Halloween
- What is your favorite day of the week? Saturday
Thanks for all that you do for Children’s Hospital and Extra Life, Tara. We enjoyed learning more about you and wish you the best of luck on game day!
