Extra Life United 2020 | Coronavirus related FAQ’s

After careful consideration, and in light of the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments, we are changing Extra Life United from an onsite event in Orlando to a virtual event for all of our passionate community members. Stay tuned for updates as we work through those logistics.

FAQ’s

Is Children’s Hospital Week and Extra Life United still scheduled to take place in Orlando?

The health and safety of our employees, partners, and network is our highest priority.

After careful consideration, and in light of the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments, we are rescheduling and may be postponing the Orlando events during #ChildrensHospitalsWeek. This enables us to provide the experience network partners expect and deserve in a safe environment.

Will the awareness activities for #ChildrensHospitalsWeek be postponed?

The awareness activities of #ChildrensHospitalsWeek, April 6-12, will continue as planned.

Is Extra Life United going to be rescheduled for a date later this year in Orlando?

Instead of an event in Orlando, we are exploring hosting a virtual live stream event the week of April 6. More details will follow. We also are exploring options to reschedule the in-person event sometime in the fall. We will share any details as we have them.

Are my flights and hotel cancelled?

Please reach out to your airline and/or hotel to cancel your reservations directly.

If you booked your own hotel reservation with The Gaylord, you need to cancel that reservation using the link provided in your reservation confirmation email or by calling 877-350-3236. We will be in communication as soon as possible regarding potential fall event dates, should you be able to reschedule your flights. Please contact registration@cmnhospitals.org with questions or reach out to your CMN Hospitals contact.

Will I get refunded for the money I paid for an Extra Life United Jersey?

Yes, any fees paid for the ELU jersey will be refunded. Please allow 2-3 weeks for your refund to process, as it is based on your financial institution. If you do not receive your registration fees refunded after that time, reach out to registration@cmnhospitals.org.

Was my smash.gg Extra Life United tournament registration cancelled?

Smash.gg registrations will be cancelled, and refunds processed as soon as possible. Please allow 2-3 weeks for your refund to process, as it is based on your financial institution. If you do not receive your registration fees refunded after that time, reach out support@extra-life.org.

Can I just donate the money I paid for my smash.gg registration straight to my hospital?

We love that you still want to support your local CMN Hospital despite the circumstances! Unfortunately, we are unable to allocate smash.gg registrations directly to your local CMN Hospital. Once your refund processes and you want to make a difference in kids’ health, donate directly at extra-life.org.

What’s happening with the Extra Life Hackathon?

We aim to move this element into a virtual experience as well. More details will be coming soon.

Is the Tetris 99 event still going on since it was for offsite participation too?

At this time, all tournament games are being re-evaluated as the team is exploring options to transform ELU into a digital experience. Be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram, and hop in our Discord for all updates!

If you still have questions regarding your Extra Life United registration, please email registration@cmnhospitals.org.
