Microsoft + Xbox Blew Us Away By Raising $150,000
We continue to be so impressed by the powerful ways that the Microsoft and Xbox communities has worked to support Extra Life this year. Microsoft has now raised over $150,000 in 2019!
Streaming in December
This past weekend, Xbox hosted a Mixer stream to benefit Extra Life. Influencers like Aaron Greenberg, Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, Trisha Hershberger and Phil Spencer hopped on to show their support. The fundraiser got off to a great start with over $10,000 USD pouring in after just one hour of streaming. Overall, the stream raised over $45,000 USD!
Thanks to @CatamyKX @Robeyonekenobi for hosting the @ExtraLife4Kids stream and thanks to all of you for helping us set a new record of $11k raised in one hour! #XboxExtraLife pic.twitter.com/znnPuIJiUZ

This stream featured raffles of amazing prizes including two custom-themed PCs, Xbox One X’s, Xbox Game Passes, and other fun gamer swag. Check out all the prizes here:
We especially loved the PC Building segment throughout the entire 27-hour stream, which was sponsored by ASUS and Newegg. This Mixer stream was also made possible by Corseair, Seagate, Xbox Game Pass, Turn 10 – Forza, Relic – Age of Empires, 343 Industries – Halo, Xbox Global Publishing, LevelUp Podcast, Rare – Sea of Thieves, Xbox Ambassadors and Mojang – Minecraft.

We want to give a special shout out to Justin Robeye for making this entire stream possible and for his on-going support of Extra Life over the years.
Matching Employee Contributions
It’s no secret that Bill Gates, Microsoft’s founder, is deeply committed to using his wealth to bring healing and hope to the world. Gates’ generosity has shaped the company culture at Microsoft. We love that all employees have the chance to have their charitable donations matched by Microsoft. In the last two years, over $50,000 USD has been donated to Extra Life simply through this “pay it forward” business decision that Microsoft has made. We anticipate far more funds to support Extra Life to come in before the end of the year through Microsoft’s employee matching program.
Check to see if your employer also matches employee donations.
 Activating in Microsoft Stores
This past fall, Microsoft stores across North America hosted monthly Halo Community Series events. In conjunction with these events, the Microsoft team raffled off prizes like an Xbox One X, Xbox Game Passes and other gaming swag to Extra Life donors while these Halo Community Series were underway.
Elevating Extra Life at San Diego Comic Con
Lastly, imagine our excitement when we were invited to stream for four days on Microsoft’s Mixer at San Diego Comic Con and fundraise while there! Incredible influencers hopped on, helping us elevate our mission to play games and heal kids to thousands of viewers. The Microsoft and Mixer team raised over $12,000 USD and helped us share our message to countless new people.
Thank you Microsoft! Your wholistic and consitent support all year long has made an incredible impact #ForTheKids in 2019.
Don’t forget to sign up for Extra Life to help sick and injured kids in hospitals around the US and Canada by playing games.
