Lego Star Wars

Combining Lego and Star Wars has proven to be the peanut butter and chocolate mix of the video game world. In 2005, Traveler’s Tales developed a Star Wars game that retold the prequel trilogy but with everything constructed out of digital Legos. It proved to be so popular that Traveler’s Tales has since made four more Lego games set in the Star Wars universe with a sixth entry coming later this year that covers the events of all nine films. Every entry in the series supports fantastic local co-op so parents and kids can play together. The latest game, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, released for Mac, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, iOS, and Android, so chances are pretty good that you have something in your home that can run some Lego Star Wars.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

You can’t go wrong with one of the best Star Wars games of all-time. Set thousands of years before the events of the original trilogy, RPG powerhouse developer BioWare created a fantastic journey through the Star Wars universe in a way that no one had ever seen before. Players can choose to follow the path of the Jedi or Sith as they slowly uncover a plot that could spell doom for the entire galaxy. It originally released for the first Xbox back in 2003, but has since been brought to PC, Mac, iOS, and Android. Knights of the Old Republic remains to this day one of the high points for video game adaptations of the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars Tabletop

Tabletop RPG players are finding that the current times make it easier to find groups of willing players. What better time to gather a few friends or family online to go on a romp through your own collective Star Wars story? Star Wars has had tabletop adaptations for decades, but one of the big surprises in tabletop was the reveal of a new one that released three distinct books courtesy of Fantasy Flight Games. Edge of the Empire aims to deliver players the experience of being scruffy-looking nerfherders on the wrong side of both the Empire and the Rebellion. Age of Rebellion provides an excellent building block for players looking to become heroes in the Rebel Alliance. For those who are driven to become Jedi or Sith, Force and Destiny offers an opportunity to dive into the tumultuous times between Episodes III and IV as Darth Vader eliminated the Jedi who managed to survive Order 66.  All of them are fairly easy to get into, especially if you have someone in the party who has some tabletop gaming experience.

We hope our three new stream overlays will help elevate your celebration of Star Wars Day and be sure to check out our Broadcast Toolkit for more help in planning a stream.
