Shands Extra Lifers Unite in Orlando!

The mission of Extra Life is to play games to help heal local kids. Several gamers for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital are committed to this mission and attended Extra Life United (ELU) last week in Orlando. Extra Life United is an incredible gathering of passionate participants and gamers from across the U.S. and Canada.

Those who attended had the chance to learn from other Charity Gamers, game in tournaments to support their local CMN Hospital and connect with miracle kids they have helped by fundraising. Read more below about the experiences that Extra Lifers from UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital had at ELU:

“Extra Life United is one of the most rewarding events that I look forward to each year. We get meet  and game with some wonderful kids that CMN has helped and forge friendships with other Extra Lifers. It really lights a fire under you to go out and raise funds For The Kids.”- Joey Mock, Extra Life Shands President

“The best part of Extra Life United is meeting other gamers across the county and Canada who are just as passionate about games and raising money for the kids. Meeting some of the kids that we help is also pretty awesome and serves as a great motivator for the rest of the year.” – Scott Harris, Extra Life Shands Vice President

“The best thing about ELU is that I can use my passion for board games to actually make a difference in children’s lives. In the past two years, I have taken home over $15,000 in tournament prizes for our hospital! I can’t wait to do it again next year!”- Aaron Riggs, Extra Life Shands Secretary
